SeaDream Yacht Club is a family-owned, Oslo-based ultra-luxury cruise line, in its 25th year in 2026, operating two twin mega-yachts, SeaDream I and SeaDream II. Each carries just 112 guests in 56 staterooms and suites, looked after by 95 crew. Fares cover meals, open bar, gratuities and the watersports Marina - the line's own phrase for the difference is "It's Yachting, Not Cruising."

What SeaDream Yacht Club is - and what it is not
SeaDream Yacht Club is a privately held cruise line headquartered in Oslo, Norway, founded in 2001 by Norwegian entrepreneur Atle Brynestad, who remains owner and chairman; his son Andreas Brynestad is president and chief executive. Its two vessels were built in the mid-1980s as Sea Goddess ships and were rebuilt in a refit completed in 2022. The name is frequently confused with several unrelated things:
- Not MSC Yacht Club. MSC Yacht Club is a gated "ship-within-a-ship" suite area aboard large MSC Cruises vessels. SeaDream is a stand-alone line whose entire yacht carries 112 people.
- Not the SeaDream Club. "SeaDream Club" is the line's own past-guest loyalty programme, which you join automatically after one voyage. The company is SeaDream Yacht Club.
- Not Sea Cloud Cruises. Sea Cloud operates tall-masted sailing ships under German management; SeaDream's yachts are motor mega-yachts.
- Related to Seabourn only by founder. Atle Brynestad founded Seabourn before SeaDream. The two are separate, competing companies today.
- Not the Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection or Four Seasons Yachts. Those are hotel-brand yacht ventures launched decades later, with 222–452 guests and private terraces on every suite.
Why travellers choose SeaDream
112 guests, 95 crew
Fifty-six accommodations across two yachts of 4,260 gross tons. Crew learn names within a day, and there are no queues, no assigned seatings and no set dining times.
Ports larger ships cannot enter
Jost Van Dyke, Mayreau, Saba, Ponza, Hydra, the Lofoten Islands. Voyages routinely stay late in port or overnight in yachting harbours such as St. Barths.
The Marina
A retractable platform off the stern with complimentary wave runners, kayaks, sailboats, paddleboards, water skis, wakeboards, snorkel gear, a banana boat and a floating island.
Champagne & Caviar Splash
The line's signature event: caviar and champagne served waist-deep in the surf on a Caribbean beach, or around the Pool Deck on Mediterranean sailings.
Balinese Dream Beds
Oversized teak daybeds on the top deck. One night per voyage you can reserve one made up with mattress, linens and pillows and sleep under the stars - included in the fare.
Dining without a reservation system
Everything is cooked à la minute, open seating, indoors in the Dining Salon or al fresco at the Topside Restaurant. Forbes Travel Guide named it the highest-rated restaurant at sea in 2025.
Why only two yachts? Because SeaDream decided against a third. In March 2018 the line ordered SeaDream Innovation, a 155-metre newbuild built around a worldwide "Global Yachting" concept, and opened reservations for it. In December 2019 SeaDream and the shipyard terminated the contract, and every booked guest was refunded in full. The company stated at the time that it had been debt-free for several years and held the equity to expand - the constraint was never money. It has remained family-owned and twin-yacht ever since.
The practical consequence is availability, not quality. Two yachts, 56 accommodations each, one Owner's Suite and one Admiral's Suite per hull, and a higher charter rate than most lines together mean that popular dates and the larger suites go early. Ask us before you fix flights.

Is SeaDream all-inclusive? What the fare covers
SeaDream is one of the more genuinely inclusive lines at sea, but "all-inclusive" is not literal - shore excursions and Wi-Fi are the two costs most guests are surprised by. Here is the split, taken from SeaDream's published terms.

SeaDream staterooms and suites
Both yachts carry an identical set of 56 accommodations across four categories. Every one faces the sea, with Belgian bed linens, marble-lined bathrooms with multi-jet showers, Elm Organics amenities, a 55-inch television, a beverage refrigerator and climate control.
The one thing to know before you book: there are no balconies. Not in any category, including the Owner's Suite. The yachts were launched in the mid-1980s and every accommodation opens onto picture windows or portholes rather than a private terrace. This is the single most common reason guests choose the Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection or Four Seasons Yachts instead - and the single most common reason SeaDream regulars say it does not matter, because the top deck, the Balinese Dream Beds and the Marina are where the days are actually spent.

Accessibility is limited by the age of the hulls. Each yacht has one wheelchair-accessible stateroom, number 215, at roughly 250 sq ft with a 31-inch door and no sill. Deck 6, the Balinese Dream Beds, the Top of the Yacht Bar, the golf simulator and the Marina are not accessible to mobility devices, and most ports are reached by tender. Where SeaDream sails
The two yachts follow the yachting seasons: the Caribbean roughly from November through April, the Mediterranean and Northern Europe from spring through late autumn, with transatlantic repositioning voyages in between. Voyages run from seven to fifteen nights, and recent seasons have added longer in-depth formats, including the line's first 14-night slow-travel Mediterranean itineraries. Sailings for 2026 through 2029 are open, with the 2029 Caribbean season the most recent release.
Caribbean
The British Virgin Islands, St. Barths, Anguilla, Antigua, Saba, the Grenadines and Mayreau, with round-trip sailings from San Juan, St. Thomas, Barbados and St. Maarten, in seven-, eight- and ten- to eleven-night formats. This is where the Champagne & Caviar Splash takes place on the beach.
Mediterranean
The Greek Isles, the Amalfi Coast and Capri, the French and Italian Rivieras, southern Italy, Spain, Croatia and Montenegro. The yachts are small enough to transit the Corinth Canal and to berth in the centre of Venice, and they overnight in ports such as Amalfi, Sorrento, Hvar and Ibiza. Typical seven-night runs include Málaga to Nice, Nice to Rome and round-trips from Athens.
Scandinavia & Northern Europe
The Norwegian fjords, Trollfjord and the Lofoten Islands, the British Isles, the Faroes and Shetlands, Ireland and Scotland. Longer 11-night formats such as Tromsø to Oslo appear in high summer.
Transatlantic
Repositioning crossings of roughly 12 to 14 nights, generally between the Caribbean and Iberia or the Mediterranean, in spring and autumn. These are the slowest-paced and usually the lowest-priced voyages of the year.
Because the yachts are small, they are chartered privately more often than most lines, and whole-yacht charters are available for celebrations, corporate groups and multi-family trips. Charter availability moves quickly - ask us before you fix dates.
SeaDream Yacht Club prices
SeaDream publishes fares per person based on double occupancy, voyage only. Voyages run from seven to fifteen nights, and fares are capacity-controlled and move with demand, so a single "price per night" figure is misleading. In practice that is roughly USD 630 to USD 1,500 per person per night, with Caribbean and transatlantic sailings at the bottom of the range and high-summer Northern Europe at the top. Because gratuities, all dining and the open bar are already in the fare, the running cost aboard is low - most guests settle a final account of a few hundred dollars covering excursions, Wi-Fi and spa. Suites carry a meaningful premium over the Yacht Club Stateroom, and there is exactly one Owner's Suite and one Admiral's Suite per yacht - two of each across the whole fleet. SeaDream had the ultra-small-ship niche largely to itself for two decades. Since 2022 it has had direct competition from hotel-brand yacht ventures. The differences are structural, not cosmetic:

SeaDream has no points currency. After one voyage at a public fare you are automatically enrolled in the SeaDream Club, which works on savings rather than tiers. Members receive advance release of new itineraries before general sale, USD 500 per stateroom off selected Club Voyages, a USD 250 saving for each stateroom when introducing new-to-SeaDream guests, a 10 to 15 percent additional saving when booking a future voyage while still aboard, 15 percent vouchers for the spa and the wine cellar, a Captain's cocktail party, and complimentary pressing of ten items once past 100 sailed days.

Is SeaDream Yacht Club all-inclusive?
Largely, but not entirely. The fare covers all meals, 24-hour in-suite dining, an open bar with select premium brands, wines with lunch and dinner, all crew gratuities, and the Marina watersports. It does not cover shore excursions, which SeaDream calls Yachting Land Adventures and bills to your onboard account, nor Wi-Fi at USD 35 per day or USD 99 per week, nor spa treatments, premium spirits, laundry or port and government fees.

Do SeaDream yachts have balconies?
No. Neither SeaDream I nor SeaDream II has a single balcony stateroom or suite. Every accommodation, including the 447 sq ft Owner's Suite, faces the sea through picture windows or portholes. The yachts were built in the mid-1980s, before balcony cabins became standard, and the 2022 refit did not add them.
What is the dress code on SeaDream?
Country-club casual, and there are no formal evenings at all. Daytime dress is relaxed and climate-appropriate, including shorts. For dinner and evening activities, gentlemen wear slacks, a pressed collared shirt and closed-toe shoes, with a jacket optional; ladies wear a dress, skirt or smart trousers. Jeans and denim, shorts, t-shirts, flip-flops and swimwear are not worn at dinner. Suits, ties and gowns are neither required nor expected.
Do you tip on SeaDream Yacht Club?
No. Crew gratuities are built into the voyage fare, and SeaDream states that tipping is neither required nor expected. There is no daily service charge added to your account and no envelope at the end of the voyage.
How many yachts does SeaDream have?

Is there a casino on SeaDream?
Yes. There is a small gaming table on Deck 4 offering blackjack and poker, open on sea days and from thirty minutes after sailing where local law permits. Casino play is not included in the fare, shipboard credit cannot be used for it, and guests under 18 may not enter the gaming area.
Are children allowed on SeaDream?
Children over one year old may sail, but SeaDream is built for adults. There are no children's programmes and no babysitting, anyone under 18 must be accompanied by an adult and supervised at all times, and if that adult is not a parent, signed parental consent must reach the line eight weeks before sailing.
Is Wi-Fi included on SeaDream?
No. Wi-Fi is purchased on board at USD 35 per day or USD 99 per week for unlimited use on a single log-in, billed to your onboard account. The yachts use satellite internet, and bandwidth limits restrict video calling and streaming services.
Does SeaDream have a loyalty programme?
Yes - the SeaDream Club, which you join automatically after one voyage booked at a public fare. It offers savings rather than points: USD 500 per stateroom off selected Club Voyages, USD 250 per stateroom for introducing new guests, an extra 10 to 15 percent when booking a future voyage while aboard, 15 percent spa and wine cellar vouchers, and advance access to new itineraries.
Can you charter an entire SeaDream yacht?
Yes. Because each yacht holds only 112 guests, full-yacht charters are commonly taken for milestone celebrations, family gatherings and corporate incentive programmes, and SeaDream is chartered more often than most lines. Charter dates are removed from public inventory well in advance, so enquire before you commit to specific dates.
