The Britannic Explorer is a luxury sleeper train operated by Belmond (an LVMH company) through the countryside of England and Wales. It is not a cruise ship or an ocean liner, and it has no connection to the HMHS Britannic - the Titanic's sister ship that sank in 1916 - beyond the shared British name. And it has not been cancelled: after a debut season in 2025 that was cut short by early engineering issues, the train relaunched and operates a full 2026 season from March to November. All journeys depart from and return to London Victoria. The train stables in quiet countryside sidings overnight - you never travel while you sleep - and each itinerary ends with a formal dinner at a celebrated restaurant near the line on the final evening.
Cornwall - 3 nights
Friday to Monday. Curated for lovers of art and culture: through Somerset to Cornwall's sparkling seas around Penzance and the Lostwithiel valley - fishing villages, coastal walks and exclusive visits, including a private tour and dinner at Hauser & Wirth Somerset on select departures.
The Lake District - 3 nights
