What is Explora Journeys?
Launched in 2023 by the Aponte family, founders of MSC Cruises, Explora Journeys is positioned as a distinct ultra-luxury ocean travel category — closer to a private yacht experience than to a conventional cruise. The fleet is being built at Fincantieri shipyards in Italy and will eventually total six vessels.
Residential-Style Ocean-Front Suites
Every accommodation aboard Explora Journeys is a suite. Suites feature floor-to-ceiling windows, private terraces, separate living and sleeping zones, walk-in wardrobes, spa-inspired bathrooms, and refreshment centers stocked with premium spirits and wines. The smallest entry-level suite is significantly larger than what most luxury cruise lines offer at the same tier.
Near 1:1 Crew-to-Guest Service
Explora maintains a service ratio that approaches one crew member per guest, which translates into anticipatory service throughout the voyage — dining preferences remembered, suite stocked to your specifications, in-suite dining delivered course by course on your private terrace.
Multi-Venue Dining, All Included
Each Explora vessel offers nine distinct culinary experiences, from refined signature restaurants to relaxed all-day eateries and in-suite service. Reservations are flexible, dining venues rotate menus across the voyage, and wine and beverage pairings are included in the all-inclusive fare.
Smaller, Smarter Ships — Better Ports
Explora yachts are sized to enter smaller harbors that the mega-cruise fleet cannot reach. That means direct dockings in walkable coastal towns, anchorages near private coves, longer port calls, and overnight stays in marquee destinations such as Venice, Istanbul, and Reykjavik.

Every Explora vessel is built with shore-power capability, advanced wastewater treatment, reduced underwater noise to protect marine life, and a single-use-plastic-free operating standard onboard and on excursions.

Explora I
In service since 2023. Mediterranean, Northern Europe, Caribbean, and transatlantic repositionings. The fleet’s first vessel.
Explora II
Launched 2024. Focus on Eastern Mediterranean — Greek Isles, Adriatic, Aegean — with shoulder-season Caribbean.
Explora III
New 2026/2027. The first Explora vessel to sail Alaska, Iceland & Greenland, and Caribbean-from-Miami itineraries.
Explora IV
Debuting 2027. Inaugural season includes Canada & New England, US East Coast, and Mediterranean voyages.
Explora V & VI
Under construction. Explora V and Explora VI will be the first LNG-and-hydrogen-fuel-cell-powered hybrid yachts in the ultra-luxury segment.
