The Corinthian — The World’s Largest Sailing Yacht
140 years after the launch of its first luxury trains, Orient Express embarks on an extraordinary new journey with the unveiling of the Corinthian. Designed by creative director and architect Maxime d’Angeac and engineered by naval architect Vianney Vautier, and built by Chantiers de l’Atlantique, the Corinthian reinterprets the golden age of travel for the open sea — with only 54 luxuriously appointed suites and the refined service of the Orient Express.

- Designed to sail under wind power across much of each voyage, supported by electric propulsion and variable-pitch feathering propellers
- Engineered to sail without heeling — remaining steady and level for exceptional comfort
An Eco-Conscious Design
- Onboard fresh-water generation to reduce stored weight
- Advanced wastewater treatment so no pollutants enter the ocean
- An AI-assisted sensor system that detects marine life beneath the surface to avoid wildlife encounters
- Approximately 170 crew caring for just 54 suites — an exceptional ratio of attention
Corinthian, Olympian & “Silenseas”: What’s the Difference?
Orient Express Sailing Yachts is the name of the brand’s ocean-going programme. The series was first revealed to the world under the working name Silenseas — so the terms “Orient Express Silenseas” and “Orient Express Sailing Yachts” refer to the same fleet.
Two yachts make up that fleet. The Corinthian is the first, sailing from June 2026, and is the yacht described throughout this page. Her sister, the Olympian, follows in 2027. Both are designed by Maxime d’Angeac and registered in Saint-Tropez. You can read more on the official brand site at sailing-yachts.orient-express.com.

Frequently Asked Questions

The Corinthian begins its maiden Mediterranean season in June 2026, sailing through October across France, Italy, Corsica, Sardinia, Malta, Croatia, Montenegro, Spain and Portugal. From October 2026 to March 2027 it sails the Caribbean, with transatlantic crossings via the Azores connecting the two seasons.
Indicative all-inclusive pricing starts from approximately €16,800 per guest (double occupancy) for entry-level suites, rising considerably for signature two-bedroom suites and the Penthouse on longer, peak-season voyages. Voyages are all-inclusive: all-suite accommodation with butler service, all dining venues, fine wines, spirits and beverages, 24-hour in-suite dining, entertainment and wellness facilities, the marina and water sports, an inclusive Exclusive Destination Experience on most sailings, and pre- and post-sailing ground transfers.
The Corinthian is designed primarily for a refined adult ambience, but families are welcome on family-friendly sailings, which feature a dedicated children’s area, Les Mousses. Connecting suites — such as Agatha Christie with Mistral — can form multi-bedroom retreats. StarsDesk can advise on the best sailings and suites for groups.
The Corinthian is engineered to sail without heeling. Thanks to a calculated balance of weight and a 25.2 m beam, it remains steady and level under sail, prioritising comfort across its predominantly Mediterranean and Caribbean itineraries.
