World of Hyatt has three elite tiers, and the room upgrade improves at each one.

Suite Upgrade Awards: how to confirm a suite in advance
The space-available suite upgrade above is not guaranteed, because it depends on a suite being open at check-in. To lock a suite in before you travel, you use a Suite Upgrade Award. Globalists earn two Suite Upgrade Awards when they reach 60 nights, and more at higher night counts. Each one confirms a standard suite for an entire stay of up to seven nights at the time of booking, so you know your room before arrival. This is the most reliable status-based way to get a suite, and it is worth saving for a high-value trip where a walk-in upgrade would be unlikely.
Does Hyatt have standby upgrades?
Not in the paid sense that some other chains use. Hyatt does not sell a standby or day-of upgrade. Its upgrades are either complimentary at check-in based on your tier, confirmed in advance with a Suite Upgrade Award, or bought as a straightforward paid upgrade at the hotel when one is offered.
